For the Bored

I've been pretty lazy lately. I've gotten into a terrible habit of going to work, coming home, working out and spending the rest of the night on the couch watching Hulu and browsing Tumblr.

Tumblr is a great place to get inspired but also the kind of site that will suck you in and won't let you go until you look up at the clock and realize that you have to be up again in four hours.

With a ton of inspiration and new motivation to get the creative juices flowing, I took a little trip to Michael's and spent a bit of time looking around for a new project. I didn't want to take on anything too big (and by too big, I mean something that will take me more than two days to finish) and I wanted it to be fun.

On a tiny, almost hidden shelf, I found these little mug kits! The perfect project for a girl who gets distracted easily. Each kit was about $2 and came with five markers each: red, yellow, blue, green and black. The colored markers looked a little too much like white board markers when I tested them out so I stuck to using black only and I love the result!

Overall, I think this was a good project to get me started on. Maybe now I can finish painting my set of drawers (a project I stated last October...hehe).

30 Day Photo Challenge: Days 4 Through 6

Hello again! Here's an update of my 30 Day Photo Challenge:

So far the hardest part of this challenge has been remembering to take the pictures, posting them on time and photographing in a way that is not too boring....so basically the whole thing. I hope to get better at composition at the end of this and master the manual mode on my camera.

Poms

My mom gave me some pomegranates to take home the other day. I had never had to open up a pom myself, but I've know that it can be a messy process.
I've heard that the magic trick to opening a pomegranate without staining everything within a mile radius is to bust it open in a bowl of water.

I decided to test out this theory and it worked! No stained clothes, fingers or counter tops. Sweet (and tangy) success!

Day 2: Your Closet

Day 1: Where You Sleep

I'm doing a 30 Day Photo Challenge on Tumblr and thought it would be a good way to start blogging on here again. I hope to record more bits and pieces of my everyday life and have something to look back on.
